James Danner Funeral services for James Danner, 92, were held Saturday, December 1, 2007, at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Washington, with Rev. Charles Lacey and Rev. Dennis Quinn officiating. Interment was in the Gibson Grove Baptist Church cemetery. He died Sunday, November 25, at Providence Hospital in Detroit, Mich. Mr. Danner was a native of Wilkes County but made his home in Detroit. He was the son of the late Tom and Mary Danner. He joined Mt. Nebo Baptist Church where he served as a custodian for many years. Survivors include fivechildren, Tom Danner of Washington, Willie Danner, Barbara Quinn, Mary Rucker, and Patricia Peavy-Edwards, all of Detroit; a granddaughter, Olivia Simmons; 27 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Davenport-McLendon Mortuary, Inc. of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
