The Wilkes County 4-H BB team is selling raffle tickets for $100 worth of gas from the Citgo station in Washington. Tickets are $2.00 each and can be purchased from any BB Team member or at the 4-H Officeat the Courthouse. Drawing is Saturday, December 22.

The Virtuous Women of Praise and the Mt. Nebo Gospel Chorus will have their fifth annual Musical Extravaganza program on Sunday, December 16, 3 p.m. Dinner will be served.

Area church youth departments are invited to participate in New Ford Baptist Church's 100 Youth Marching for Christ program on Sunday, December 16, 3 p.m. Rev. Lance Pitts will be the speaker. The church that has the most participants will receive the "Floating Plaque."

Auditions for the musical, "I Do, I Do," will be held Thursday, December 13, 7 p.m., at The Playhouse on North Alexander Ave. The play has parts for one male and one female. Jo Randall is directing. It will be presented in February and March, 2008.

True Light Church, 152 Horace Callaway Rd., will open a clothes closet December 15, 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Women's, men's, and children's winter clothes and some shoes will be available. No cost.

The Wilkes County Senior Center and Wilkes Transit will be closed December 24, 2007, until January 2, 2008.
