He's looking at you It's not Santa Claus that's looking at you, but rather God and He alone knows whether you've been naughty or nice for He sees the depth of the heart and soul. He alone knows your hidden secrets. Be careful what you say or do, be c aus e the Lord is looking at you.
He sees you when the preacher says, "Let's worship God in the very beauty of holiness," and you sull. He sees you when the choir leader says, "Let's all stand and sing for God's glory," and we sit and sull. He sees us and we must not play around with God. He will not always strive with humankind. Call on Him while He may be found. Years ago I took the tune to "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," and I wrote, "Yes, the Lord is looking at you." It goes like this: "Oh, you better watch out; you better not lie, you better not curse; I'm telling you why. Yes, the Lord is looking at you! He sees you when you're fussing. He knows the trouble you make. He knows when you've been good or bad, so be good for goodness sake. Oh, you better watch out, you better not cry; you better not pout; I'm telling you why. Yes, the Lord is looking at you!" | |||||
