Alpha Omicron Pi is an international women's fraternity promoting friendship for a lifetime, inspiring academic excellence and lifelong learning, and developing leadership skills through service to the fraternity and community. Alpha Omicron Pi was founded in l897 at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York and national expansion began in l898. The Alpha Lambda chapter was founded at Georgia Southern in April, l988, and has grown from 65 to over 130 sisters. Britt is a sophomore chemistry major at Georgia Southern.
