Retired educators hear program about system's data rooms

The Lincoln-Wilkes Retired Educators Association (LWREA) held its regular monthly meeting at the Wilkes County Board of Education building in Washington on November 8.

The program consisted of a review of the Wilkes County School System's data rooms which was presented by Marie Echols, director of curriculum and instruction.

Mrs. Echols stated that Wilkes County Schools, through partnership with the Georgia Leadership Institute for School Improvement (GLISI), have begun intensive examination of data that impacts student achievement.

After the presentation, Superintendent of Wilkes County Schools Joyce Williams gave a brief overview of the system's involvement with GLISI which included the development of the system's future story. She read the dynamic story that she had developed entitled, "Wilkes County School District's Future Story."

The story was enhanced by an outstanding power-point presentation by Deleki Lee, assistant principal at the W-W Middle School.
