Reese Booker Scholarship program set Sunday at Mark's Tabernacle

The Reese J. Booker Scholarship Committee will have its annual scholarship program Sunday, December 23, at the Marks Tabernacle Baptist Church, Lexington Road, Washington. The program will begin at 6 p.m.

Minister Brenda Nunnally will be the guest speaker for the occasion, along with other guests, including members of Cherry Grove Baptist Church and choir. Other special guests who will be singing include the New Sutton's Temple, Purpose, Samuel Daniel's group, the Flint Hill Male Chorus, and others.

All churches and choirs are invited to participate. Anita Rolland will be the worship leader.

Minister Nunnally is a native of Wilkes County and the daughter of Silas and Carrie Gresham. At the age of 12 she joined the Cherry Grove Baptist Church of Washington and began blessing others through her singing ministry.

She is a 1979 graduate of Washington Wilkes Comprehensive High School. She received a Bachelor of Science in Education with emphasis on biology from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. She taught science and coached basketball, softball, and track at Screven County High School. She and her husband, the late Alvin Nunnally, are parents of a daughter, Salethea Simone Nunnally.

Minister Nunnally lives in Washington and serves as the Companywide Quality Coordinator for CH2M HILL Operations Management International Inc., a $243 million employee owned firmbased in Denver, Colorado.

The purpose of the scholarship program is to help college students.

Anyone interested in making a contribution to the fund should make checks payable to Reese J. Booker Scholarship Fund and mail it to Clara Sutton, P.O. Box 261, Washington, Ga. 30673.
