Special Christmas services are planned for many Wilkes Co. churches this year Many Wilkes County churches will be having special Christmas programs Sunday, December 23, and on Monday, Christmas Eve. One church has a special worship service on Christmas Day. The children and adult choir of Phillips Mill Baptist Church at Tyrone will have a special program on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. Gibson's Grove Baptist Church on the Thomson Road will have a Christmas program Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. Sunday at 7 p.m., Pathway Community Church, 120 Brown Road, Washington, will have "A Family Christmas" celebration at 6 p.m. Dr. Stan Coe and his family will present a program of Christmas music. This will be followed by congregational singing led by Ronnie Lindsey and friends. The evening will begin with a covered dish supper. The children and young people of Sardis Baptist Church, Rayle, will present a Christmas play Sunday evening at 7 p.m. Ebenezer Baptist Church at Aonia will have a Christmas Candlelight Lord's Supper observance with families, groups, or individuals invited to go to the church Sunday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. to receive the supper. Four churches in Washington will be having Christmas Eve services. The First United Methodist Church will have a Candlelight Communion Services at 6 p.m. The First Baptist Church will have its usual Christmas Eve Candlelight Observance of The Lord's Supper beginning at 6 p.m. Washington Presbyterian Church will feature Candles and Carols beginning at 7 p.m. The Episcopal Church of the Mediator will begin its Christmas Eve program with a Service of Carols at 10:30 p.m., followed by the Christmas service at 11 p.m.
On Christmas Day at 9 a.m., New Salem Baptist Church at Tyrone will have a special Christmas Worship Service.
