Johnny Bolton Funeral services for Johnny Bolton, 86, of Rayle, were held Saturday, December 15, 2007, at Lyonsville Baptist Church, Rayle, with Rev. A.J. Richardson and Rev. Frank Moore officiating. He died Tuesday, December 11, in Wills Memorial Hospital. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Bolton was a native of Wilkes County and the son of Henry and Mamie Bolton. He was a member of Clifford Grove Baptist Church and was a farmer and construction worker. He was the widower of Maude Mattox Bolton. Survivors include his children, Johnnie Smith, Tommy and Linda Martin of Tignall, Dorothy and Willie Young, Charles H. Bolton, Christine and Frank Moore, Cynthia and Edward Moore, of Rayle, Freddie and Mary Bolton, Augusta, Brenda Wingfield, Washington, and Kennedy Bolton, Atlanta; two sisters, Nancy Hawes and Janie B. Witherspoon; three brothers, Charlie Bolton and Fred Bolton of Lincolnton, and Paul Bolton of Knoxvfille,Tenn.; 23 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
McLendon Memorial Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
