Dorothy Nun Hardy

Graveside services for Dorothy Nunn Hardy, 81, of Columbus Granade Rd., Washington, were held Saturday, December 15, 2007, at Resthaven Cemetery, Washington, with Rev. Donnie Berry officiating. She died Thursday, December 13, at Wilkes Health Care Center, Washington.

Mrs. Hardy was a native of Taliaferro County and was the daughter of the late George P. Nunn and Eva Louise Tucker Nunn. She was the widow of Thomas E. Hardy. She was a retired inspector in the textile industry and was a member of the Beaverdam Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Debra Hardy of Washington; two daughters and sons-in-law, Louise and Pete Grimaud and Audrey and Henry Barnett, all of Washington; a brother, Warren Nunn of Washington; a sister, Mildred N. McAvoy, Washington; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Gaynor Hardy, Christopher Bentley, Pete Grimaud, Elliott Nunn, Jerry McAvoy, and Dennis Seymour.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Beaverdam Baptist Church, c/o Marie Mexwell, P.O. Box 692, Washington, or to the Washington First United Methodist Church.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
