Aaliyah Carter celebrates first birthday Dec. 15

Aaliyah Ja'Mya Carter, daughter of Jeffery and Tameica Carter, celebrated her first birthday on December 15 with a party at Chuck E Cheese in Augusta.

Aaliyah was treated to a SpongeBob Square Pants party theme and celebrated with a SpongeBob cake, plates and party hats.

Aaliyah is the granddaughter of Cassie Carter of Washington, Boykin Carter Jr. of Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Okla, Jesse Norman Jr. of Lincolnton and Alice Turner of Washington. She is the great-granddaughter of Emma Ruth Dooley and Jesse Norman of Lincolnton, and Sammie Shanks of Thomson.

Helping her celebrate along with her parents and grandparents were her brother, Tavaris Echols, and sister, Shaquita Echols of Washington; aunts, Shulanda Norman of Washington, Jessica Evans of Crawfordville and Jackie Settles of Columbia, S.C.; and cousins and friends, Taylor Evans and Wesley Evans of Crawfordville, Brent Adgerson, Crissa Adgerson and Amber Adgerson of Columbia, S.C., Tanavia Moore and Bridget Curry of Lincolnton, James Kendrick of Washington and Gregg Robinson of Columbia, S.C.
