W-W Garden Club enjoys holiday party at Waters home

Members of the Washington- Wilkes Garden Club enjoyed their annual Christmas party at the home of Mark and Emilie Waters on East Robert Toombs Avenue Thursday, December 13.

Club member, Mabel Johnson, joined her daughter and son-in-law as a hostess.

Mary Webster, president, presided and welcomed members and guests, Elizabeth Smith, Carol Daniel, and former member Faye Durham. She read two beautiful Christmas stories as a devotional and offered a prayer.

Reports were given during the business meeting.

For their Christmas project, members brought underclothing for residents of the Central State Hospitals as a part of the State Garden Club of Georgia, Inc., project, Operation Figleaf.

A musical program was presented by Mrs. Waters and Patricia Burton. Members also joined in singing familiar carols.

After the meeting and program, all enjoyed a bounty of party foods beautifully served from the festively decorated dining room table. Members were seated in the second dining room to enjoy the refreshments and hot cider as they reminisced many holiday memories.

After refreshments, many enjoyed touring the home which was beautifully decorated for the holiday season.

Present with the hosts and guests were Celeste Adams, Sophia Bamford, Sally Kennedy, Pat Mack, Becky Dixon, Elaine Boiter, Genevieve Thurmond, Edna Lamar and Mary Webster.
