New Springhill Baptist Church will have a watch night service on New Year's Eve, Monday, December 31, at 10 p.m. Rev. Darrell Norman and the Springhill Baptist Church will be special guests.

The Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Baltimore Road, Washington, will have its annual Deacon Board Program January 20, 4 p.m. Rev. Dante Smith will be the guest speaker.

Pompey's Chapel Baptist Church, Lundberg Road, Washington, will host the Ministers and Deacons Sunday School Union meeting Saturday and Sunday, December 29 and 30.

Booker's Chapel Baptist Church will be host for a watch night service along with New Saints CME Church and Pompey's Chapel Baptist Church Monday, December 31, at 10 p.m. Breakfast will be served.

Members of Ebenezer Baptist Church will be selling copies of the church cookbook - "Ebenezer's Best" - with proceeds benefitingChristopher Charping and his family. Cost is $12.00 each the books are available at Poss-Ace Hardware, Tammy Gunter's Salon, or from Teresa Burdette, or Newton Gunter.

The Wilkes County Senior Center and Wilkes Transit will be closed December 24, 2007, until January 2, 2008.

Springfield Baptist Church will have a watch night service on Monday, December 31, at 10 p.m. Rev. Joseph B. Williams will be the speaker.
