The joy cannot be measured

TO THE EDITOR:

My heart is so full of joy that I live in a community that has come together to support Operation Love and Joy in a Shoebox.

Our goal this year was to give a gift to each resident in all four of our local senior facilities, and because of your efforts we were able to accomplish this. We had 83 shoeboxes and 21 giftbags donated by different individuals and groups in our community.

This year we had many church groups, offices, and individual families participate! I wish I could name every one that donated, I can't, but you know who you are. Know this that the joy you brought to the hearts and lives of the individual that received your bag or box cannot be measured.

When we passed out the boxes, the volunteers had as much fun and joy as those who were opening them. We had some great boxes! Thanks for all your kindness and effort. We'll be doing this every year so go ahead and get started now!
