Lillian Alline Hopkins Lunceford

Funeral services for Lillian Alline Hopkins Lunceford, 101, of Tignall, were held Saturday, December 22, 2007, at the Clark's Station Baptist Church near Tignall with Rev. W.C. Bentley officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. She died Thursday, December 20.

Mrs. Lunceford was a native of Wilkes County and was the daughter of the late B. Dalton Hopkins and Rosalee Hopkins. She was the widow of Joseph Elim Lunceford. She was a retired teacher and homemaker and a member of Clark's Station Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Rose Lunceford Bennett, Washington; two sons, Joseph E. "Buddy" Lunceford Jr., Tignall, and William E. Lunceford, Evans; six grandchildren, Joe Bennett III and Laurie Bennett of Sugar Hill, Jon and Sabrina Bennett, Jim and Donna Bennett, and Amy and Will Long of Washington, Angela and Michael Wren of Louisville, Ky., and Wayne and Jane Lunceford of Winterville; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons served as pallbearers and included Wayne Lunceford, Joe Bennett III, Jim Bennett, Michael Wren, Jon Bennett, and Will Long. Philip Huff and Billy Hopkins served as honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Clark's Station Baptist Church, c/o Debbie Jackson, 2960 Newtown Rd., Tignall 30668.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
