Elizabeth Newsome guest of honor at Christmas shower

Elizabeth Newsome, bride-elect of Justin Holmes, was entertained at a Christmas shower and brunch, on Saturday morning, December 15, at the home of Graham and Teresa Eason on Lovelace Way.

Hostesses for the occasion were Jillian Andrews of Washington; Leigh Oxendine of Augusta; Jessica Eason and Paige Eason of Macon; Rebecca DeWeese of Athens; and Ashlyn Winfrey of Evans.

Miss Newsome was lovely in a green silk dress complemented with black banding and finished with a black velvet jacket. She was presented a Christmas corsage accented with an angel ornament.

As guests arrived, they signed a keepsake page the bride-elect will add to her scrapbook.

The Eason home was festively decorated for the holiday season.

The dining table was centered with a topiary of decadent chocolate dipped strawberries which were enjoyed with breakfast casserole, baked grits, cinnamon rolls, orange juice and hot chocolate topped with homemade wedding bell-shaped marshmallows.

The hostesses presented Miss Newsome a Christmas tree skirt and white porcelain Disney bride and bridegroom ornaments which hold great sentiment for her as Mr. Holmes proposed to her on a trip to Disney World.

Among the guests attending were the bride-elect's mother, Mary Newsome; sister, Molly Newsome; grandmother, Jane Newsome; cousin, Amy Jones of Atlanta; Lindsey Helms, Kendrick Sudderth, Shannon South, Ashley Sheffieldand Taylor Lindsey of Athens; and Rebecca Pye of Lexington, S.C
