Tells of Mark Twain's life
Lisa Luken, wife of Kiwanian Karl Luken, was the guest speaker for the Washington Kiwanis Club on Tuesday, January 15. Lisa presented a program titled "Mark Twain and My Father." Lisa's father, William Arthur Moeller, portrayed Mark Twain in 284 performances given at colleges, banquets, fairs, libraries, etc. She discussed Twain's early life and the background of the nationally known author and satirist who was described by William Faulkner as the "Father of American Literature." Also presented were excepts of her father's final Mark Twain performance from a DVD. Karl Luken (right) was the program host for the day. |
