Show spring visitors what a quality town Washington really is
2008-02-07 / Letters
TO THE EDITOR:
Last week's letter to the editor [published in the January 24 edition] that pointed out Washington's flaws made me wince. But after thinking about it, I realized the points were correct.
The truth often hurts. Let's face it. Washington needs to clean up its own backyards (and a few front yards, too.)
With so many homes unsold, storefronts empty, and no relief in sight other than visitors, we need to all join in and make Washington look its best.
Come on city and county officials. Start enforcing trash and debris ordinances. Spend a few dollars on respectable welcome signs. Let's show our spring visitors what a quality small town Washington really is!
