It was good to hear that there was almost a full house Sunday, February 10, at Phillips Mill Baptist Church -- a reminder to some of years past. The worship service included having baptismal service following the call to worship hymn, "I Love You, Lord;" and the marriage of Ray Moore and Tammy Mattox following the worship service. Love was the theme in hymns and message presented by the pastor, Rev. Robert Rayner. The beautiful flowers were placed by Marion and Joyce West. Following the wedding vows the congregation was invited to stay for the nice reception in the fellowship hall. We extend best wishes to the couple and a hardy welcome to all our recent new memberes. Those that I know of are Ed and Beth Hamrick, David Green, and Caitlin Mann. Caitlin was excited to have her grandparents, Benny and Ruby Tench of Clarkston to join all of her family at church Sunday, coming to see her baptized. .Phillips Mill's valentine banquet went over well Friday night, beginning with a spaghetti and salad supper. Thanks to all who took part. .The Georgia Baptist Association collected 148 coats for children in North Korea. They were delivered to the Washington Association. The total number of coats collected by the different associations of our region was 626. Thanks to all of you who helped in the collection. .Warren and Lois Nunn of Washington visited his sister and brotherin law, Mildred and Dan McAvoy, and their son Jerry McAvoy, Sunday afternoon. Other visitors during the week included Benji McAvoy and Gloria Hardy. .Gloria Hardy, Morrison and Priscilla Maxwell are happy to have a new metal roof on our houses. I guess our taxes will go up for trying to keep our houses in good shape.
