Funeral services for James D. "Sonny" Armour were held Sunday, February 10, 2008, at Hopkins Funeral Home, Washington. He died Wednesday, February 6, in Wills Memorial Hospital, Washington.

Mr. Armour was a native and lifelong resident of Wilkes County and was the son of the late Edna Glaze Armour and James D. Armour. He was a former retail meat cutter and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Washington. He enjoyed sports and traveled extensively.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Dana and Andy Mirza, and Joy and Wayne O'Reilly of Athens; a sister, Anne Armour Snelling of Augusta; three grandchildren, Celia Wolfe, John Epps Jr., and Randall Epps; fivegreat-grandchildren, Haileigh Hogan, Michael Wolfe, Emily Wolfe, Chasity Epps and Madison Epps.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
