First United Methodist Church holds Baby Recognition Service on Sunday, Feb. 10

The Cornelia Johnson Circle of the First United Methodist Church held its Baby Recognition Service during the morning worship services on Sunday, February 10, in the sanctuary.
This annual event is held to recognize babies of parents or grandparents born in the church family the previous year. A special offering to missions of the United Methodist Church is given in honor of each baby.
Judy Thompson and Linda Smith presented certificatesand red ribbon bookmarks to the following babies, Addison Renee Baston, daughter of Jim and Heather Baston and granddaughter of James and June Baston; William Gray Blount, son of Brian and Catherine Blount and grandson of Joey and Polly Fievet; Emily Grace Bray, daughter of IV and Gabby Gray and granddaughter of Ralph and Kay Bray; Davis Langlin Brown, son of Thad and Amy Brown and grandson of Brooks Brown and the late Rebecca Brown; Jonathan Benjamin Conard, son of Jon and Beth Conard and grandson of Pauline Bell and the late Ben Bell; Destiny Emyrra Fortson, daughter of Jacklyn Fortson and granddaughter of Mike and Fran Fortson; Tristan Blake Jordan, son of Forrest and Tonya Jordan and grandson of Jim and Eleanor Finch; Shelby Katelyn Kennedy, daughter of Trey and Jade Kennedy and granddaughter of Bill and Martha Cronic; Sarah Grace Partridge, daughter of James and Jennifer Partridge and granddaughter of David and Janie Cravens; Alex William Pharr, son of Darren and Janet Pharr and grandson of G. T. and Betty Hall and Jerrel and Rachel Pharr; Gracie Fay Sanders, daughter of Sonny and Jennifer Sanders; and Camryn Grace Vincent, daughter of Jason and Leslee Vincent, granddaughter of Joey and Teresa Saggus and Kim Vincent, and great-granddaughter of Shari Bryson.
Mrs. Thompson explained how the money given in honor of these children would benefit the children worldwide. She then offered a prayer for the babies.
