Funeral services for Roy Daniels, 48, were held Friday, February 22, 2008, at New Springhill Baptist Church, Philomath, with Rev. Dr. Reginald Hunter officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. He died Friday, February 15.

Mr. Daniels was a native of Oglethorpe County and was the son of Lillierene Daniels and the late Henry Belle Daniels. He attended public school in Oglethorpe and Wilkes counties.

Survivors include his mother, Lillierene Daniels of Rayle; a son, Sandy; fivebrothers, James Beasley of Rayle, Robert Charles Daniels of Arnoldsville, Henry David Daniels of Lincolnton, James Daniels of Carrollton, and Michael Daniels of Rayle; and three sisters, Dorothy Robinson of Lithonia, Ola Belle Shank of Washington, and Mary Holmes of Dacula.

Pallbearers included Tim Johnson, Clifford Smith, Charles Turner, Willie Turner, Fitzgerald Wright, Gary Wright, and Tony Wright.

Davenport-McLendon Mortuary Inc. of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
