Politically incorrect

They were trying to put the cigarette companies out of business. I wanted them to launch just as powerful a campaign to put all the beer and liquor companies out of business.

There is nothing any more deadly and which causes more social problems than alcohol, and alcohol, whether they will admit it or not, leads into taking drugs. The fact of the matter is that cigarettes, alcohol, and drugs are all in the addiction family and one feeds off of another. What it is in this hypocritical society is that it is politically correct to go after the cigarette companies and politically incorrect to go after the alcohol producers because society as a whole wants wine with their dinner, champagne with their caviar, beer with their sports, and cocktails at their parties.

That's why it's politically incorrect, but no matter what, there's one fact that remains true. There's nothing that costs society more and causes more social ills than alcohol. I should know because it almost destroyed my life and yes, I thought I could handle it too. So don't hand me that baloney!

They should have gone after the cigarette companies, but I think they got the cart ahead of the horse. I think they should have started with the alcohol producers first. Alcohol commercials are still being shown on television and they are portraying a falsehood. They show a bunch of half-naked good-looking women. Oh, ain't it fun and ain't it great!

Why don't they show folks in the gutter? Lives destroyed, Homes busted up. Marriages destroyed. Crime and devastation. Then they would be giving an honest picture of what alcohol is really all about. Can you say amen?
