Rape case leads round up of February arrests
A 69-year-old man is charged with rape and Washington Police are investigating the case.
WPD Investigator Lt. Joe Nelson said that Emery Samuel, of Rusher Street in Washington, was arrested February 22 after the alleged victim, a woman in her 30s, reported to police that Samuel had purchased alcohol for her, got her drunk, and took advantage of her.
Samuel has denied the allegation, saying that the woman was drunk and got rowdy, so he threw her out. The alleged victim was examined at Wills Memorial Hospital, and DNA was collected, Nelson said.
