For the first time in nearly 10 years, the federal government has announced that it will increase, by 25 percent, fines levied against employers who hire illegal immigrants. Penalties, depending on the offense, could range from $275 to $11,000 and could also include jail time. Do you think cracking down on employers who hire illegally is a valid means of dealing with immigration problems?
