Bride-elect Whitney James was honored at a James family shower and buffet on Saturday, March 1, at the home of her great-uncle and aunt, Tutt and Cheryl James, in Hephzibah. Festivities were hosted by her aunt, Ida Newman, and cousin, Lori James, also of Hephzibah.

Miss James, whose marriage to Jacob Richards of Lincolnton will be an event of March 29, wore black slacks and turquoise top. She was presented a corsage of ivory roses.

A lovely arrangement of pink and white gerbera daisies and candles decorated the buffet from which guests enjoyed a delicious bounty of heavy hors d'oeuvres.

The hostesses presented Miss James a large gift bag filled with both useful and decorative items for her new home.

Special guests, the bride-elect's mother, Patti James, and sister, Hailey James, both of Washington, and the prospective bridegroom's mother, Donna Richards of Lincolnton, joined a host of James family members for the festivities.
