Hummingbird Hill setting for shower feting Jessica Coxwell
Jessica Coxwell, bride-elect of Herchell Evans of Dacula, was entertained at a miscellaneous shower Saturday afternoon, March 1, at Hummingbird Hill, home of Kay and Pug Nelms in Logan Woods. Hostesses for the occasion with Mrs. Nelms were Melanie Wells, Rosemary Hopkins, Angie Bentley, Susan Pope, Cindy Gillespie, Vonice Wells, Lisa Newsome and Barbara Roberts.
The bride-elect was presented a corsage of white rosebuds to complement her deep turquoise dress.
White balloons on the mailbox marked the location of the party. The front door featured a large replica of her "Save the Date" magnet done in white, silver, browns and pinks. Swirls of white tulle accented the potted rosemary topiary by the front door.
Inside guests were invited to register in the bride-elect's keepsake book. The party invitation in a white frame matted in lavender and a silver tussie mussie with a single rose also graced the table.
Guests greeted Miss Coxwell in the den and enjoyed watching her open her many gifts which were displayed in the breakfast area. The tables were covered in white. One was centered with a bouquet of miniature white roses and the other, decorated with additional white puddling and lace skirting, held an ornate silver trumpet vase of roses, trailing smilax, nandina and eleagnus greenery. Offsetting this arrangement was a tall glass decorative vase. Another gift table in a separate area was dressed in the same fashion and featured a tall cherub.
The dining table, also covered in white and topped with white puddling, was centered with an elaborate arrangement of springeri, yellow button chrysanthemums, green and yellow fuji chrysanthemums, gypsophila, deep pink gerberas and snapdragons, alstroemeria, yellow solidago, white purple-tipped hydrangea, green hypericum berries, and Rubrum lilies in another silver trumpet vase. From the table guests enjoyed fresh coconut cake, chocolate cake, Red Velvet cake, cheese straws, toasted nuts and punch from silver appointments.
The hostesses presented the bride-elect two place settings in her informal china. Miss Coxwell presented each hostess a special thank you gift.
