Tigers still ahead in region play at 3-1, facing Patriots for the first time today
      The Washington-Wilkes Tiger baseball team had a 3-0 region record going until Tuesday when the North Oconee Titans knocked a bunch of hits and home runs to take home an easy 11-2 win over the home team. A leadoff double followed by a homer and then another run scored by N. Oconee got the game off to an unbalanced start for the Tigers.

Turkey caller takes the prize
      World-class turkey caller Jeff Murphy added another championship to his list of accomplishements when he won the U.S. Open Qualifier Championship held earlier this month in Atlanta. Murphy, representing Custom Camo Gold and Talkn Sticks Pro, posted a score of 219 to win the event for the third time. The win gives him a "free pass" to the U.S.

Little League Day to be held at Ashley Park March 29 at 10
      The Annual Washington-Wilkes Little League Day has been scheduled for Saturday, March 29, beginning at 10 a.m. at Ashley Park. This year's day is going to be a little different. Instead of having the parade, everyone will meet at Ashley Park with their teams and play exhibition games throughout the day.
