The Diabetic Support Group will meet in the Wills Memorial Hospital Library Friday, April 4, at 2 p.m. Dr. Vishal Arora will speak on cardiac concerns for the diabetic. Dr. Arora specializes in cardiology and is a member of the medical staff at the Medical College of Georgia and at Wills Memorial Hospital. The public is invited to attend. The congregation of Hilliard Station Baptist Church will celebrate the anniversary of their pastor on Sunday, April 20, 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Edwin Summerour from Athens. Dinner will be served.

The Mulberry Baptist Church will have men and women's day on Sunday, April 27, 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Larry Norman of the Flint Hill and New Springhill Baptist churches.

The Senior Center Advisory Council will meet Tuesday, April 8, 10 a.m., at the Senior Center.

Sardis Baptist Church at Rayle will have homecoming on Sunday, May 4, at 11 a.m. Rev. Bryan Edwards will be the speaker. A covered dish meal will be served following the service.

The Lincoln-Wilkes Retired Educators Association (LWREA) will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10, at the Lincoln County Library, 181 Peachtree Street. All retired educators are invited to attend.

Twin Oak Baptist Church will sponsor a free health fair on Thursday, April 3, at the Third Shiloh Association Building. Several screenings will be provided with assistance from the Wilkes County Health Department/MCG and others. A food pantry truck will be on site for those attending the health fair.

Concerned Citizens of Wilkes County will meet Tuesday, April 15, at the Mary Willis Library at 7 p.m.

Twin Oak Baptist Church will sponsor a pit-cooked barbecue/ stew by Rev. Robert Walton on Saturday, April 5, at the Third Shiloh Association Building on McLendon Drive, Washington, beginning at 10 a.m. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.

On April 7 and 14, Learning in Retirement offers "Writing About Your Life," an enjoyable course on getting interesting stories from life on paper, just for fun or for others -- children, grandchildren, etc. Peggy Barnett will guide the program at the Mary Willis Library, 2 p.m. Guests are welcome. There will be refreshments.

The New Springhill Baptist Church, Philomath, will have its women's conference on April 5, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., and on April 6, 2:30 p.m., the women's day program. Guest speaker for the women's day program will be Minister Khristie Sanders. Pastor Reginald A. Hunter extends an invitation anyone interested to attend.
