• Our pastor, Rev. O'Neil Martin, was invited to preach the homecoming message at Sandy Cross Baptist Church Sunday. In his absence, Tommy Harwell of Norwood was guest speaker. He preached a good message and we all enjoyed having him. He had preached for us a number of times in the past and it was nice to see him again.
• Wednesday, March 26, was Iris Dyson's birthday. To celebrate this occasion her sons, Charles and Lance, and their wives, Amelia and Sally, treated her to a delicious dinner that evening at the Jockey Club.
• Mrs. Justin Turner and Harrison of Elberton visited Mrs. Iris Dyson Friday afternoon.
• Mrs. Juanita Bradford and Mrs. John Sutherland visited Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Bradford in Thomson Tuesday, going especially to see their son Jeff and his family of Rosewood, Illinois, who were spending a week with them.
• Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lance attended the wedding of Whitney James and Jacob Richards Saturday afternoon.
• There were a lot of people on and around The Square in Washington Friday evening to see the staff of WJBF television. That is my favorite channel and I enjoyed seeing them again and also seeing the Washington-Wilkes Middle School band perform.
• James and I were among the many who ate a lot of good food at the Country Cooking Supper at Fishing Creek Baptist Church Saturday night.
