A memorial service for Sherman Medlin, 50, of Lincoln County was held Saturday, March 29, 2008, at the First Assembly of God, Lincolnton, with Rev. Lanis Lewis and Rev. Terry Bonds officiating. He died Tuesday, March 25, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Medlin was a native of Jacksonville, Fla., and had lived in Pennsylvania before moving to Lincolnton. He was a carpenter.

Survivors include three sisters, Peggy Medlin, Lincolnton, Dee A. Brown, Tignall, and Mary Boyle, Jacksonville; and a brother, John Starr, St. Augustine, Fla.

Beggs Funeral Home of Lincolnton was in charge of arrangements.
