Dawn Pickens was honored at a brunch and baby shower Saturday, March 29, at the Henderson home at 25 Lexington Avenue in Washington.

Hostesses for the occasion were Lavenia Henderson, Sandra Adams, Peggy Anderson, Cherry Andrews, June Baston, Debbie Bennett, Jerry Denard, Laverne Edwards, Elaine Filipiak, Linda Garrett, Joan Geddings, Shirley Gunter, Rosemary Hopkins, Pam McCarty and Angie Strother.

The hostesses presented Mrs. Pickens a corsage of white porcelina tea roses tied with baby blue sheer ribbon embossed with white baby footprints.

Navy, baby blue and white, the colors of Baby Pickens' nursery, were used in decorating. The dining room table was covered with a lace cloth and centered with a large arrangement of tree branches sprayed white and adorned with colorful infant linking rings. The branches were anchored in a metal garden bucket painted light blue with navy and white dotted rims at the top and bottom. The body of the bucket was stamped with sets of navy baby footprints.

Guests enjoyed a brunch of shrimp and grits, scrambled eggs with mushrooms, fresh fruit and dip, country ham biscuits, miniature banana muffins,rum cake with whipped cream, mimosas and coffee.

Mrs. Pickens was presented a Jeep jogger stroller as a hostess gift.

Nearly 100 local and out-oftown family members and friends attended including prospective grandmothers, Bobbie Ann Griffin and Denise Wheeler.
