Senior pitcher Caleb Saggus threw a no-hitter last Friday as the Washington-Wilkes Tigers cruised to an easy 12-0 win over the Tigers of Greene County. Never mind that Greene is not doing so well this year - a no-hitter is a no-hitter - and the game had to be shortened due to the mercy rule.

The outcome wasn't so good a few days earlier when the Tigers travelled to Morgan County. The W-W defense had some problems and four errors led to a total of six unearned runs for the Bulldogs who went on the beat the Tigers 10-8. Kelley Roberts absorbed the loss to make his record 3-1 on the season.

The Tigers got off to a good start when Saggus and Drew Wilson each hit their second home runs of the season in the first inning.

Despite the loss, Washington- Wilkes remains in second place in Region 8-AA South with an overall record of 8-4 and a region record of 6-2. The Tigers travelled to North Oconee (the only undefeated team in the sub-region) on Tuesday but results were not know as of this writing.
