4-H members earn reward trip to Fernbank Museum in Atlanta
Students who visited Fernbank on the 4-H reward trip included (front, l-r) Ryan Jones, Brandon Linares, Liam Smith, Andrea Hill, (middle) County Agent Audra Chapman, Cody McLeroy, Ashlyn Holley, Jackson Armour, Megan Thackson, (back) Khalil Zahran, Brittany Klaus, Kathleen Storrin, Samantha Smith, Amanda Smith, Tabatha Welch, Lexi Stone, Jackie Crew. Wilkes County 4-H'ers, who have competed in a competitive event earn Bulldog Bucks for every activity in which they participated in the previous year. When they have accumulated 10 Bulldog Bucks they earn a fun reward trip for their hard work.
This year a group of 15 4-H'ers visited the Fernbank Museum of Natural History in Atlanta as their reward trip. The students participated in two IMAX films on the Grand Canyon and Adventuring through Caves. Students walked through the regions of Georgia studying the seven geographical regions of the state. They explored the fossils of the time periods and walked through a thrilling sea shell exhibit with many creatures of the sea.
The students had an educational, fun-filled day touring the science exhibits and playing the games at each location.
Teen Leader Brittany Klaus and adult leaders Audra Chapman, Jackie Crew, and Denise Armour accompanied the group.
