Country Cooking Supper set at Fishing Creek Sat., 6-8 p.m.

The Christian Service Organization of Fishing Creek Baptist Church will have a Country Cooking Supper on Saturday, April 26, from 6 until 8 p.m. Price is $6.00 for all you can eat. Take-out plates will be available.

All proceeds will go to Frank Turner Jr. (known as Junior), who has several health problems. He is on Social Security disability, but there is a need for additional funds to help with medical expenses.

Mr. Turner was diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure and then with vascular disease in his legs. A stint was placed in one leg to relieve a blockage. In February 2007 he had kidney failure and has to be on dialysis three times a week. In January 2008 he had eye laser surgery in both eyes; and in February he had open heart surgery.

He has been hospitalized several times to relieve fluid build-up on his lungs.

Turner and his family, his wife Linda, and three daughters have been active in Fishing Creek Church for more than 25 years. They have fivegrandchildren.

He is an ordained deacon, presi- dent of the Christian Service Organization which has helped a number of people due to sickness or disasters over the years. He also serves as Sunday School Secretary and song leader.

"Now it is time to help him as he has helped so many others," says Rev. Roy Cates, Fishing Creek pastor.

Anyone who can't attend and would like to give a donation can send it to Fishing Creek Baptist Church, marked for the Junior Turner benefit fund. Mail in care of Roger Walker, 2221 Sandtown Road, Washington.

Rev. Cates invites and encourages all to participate in this most worthwhile benefit.
