Pamela Eaton of Washington- Wilkes attended the Furniture Forum 2008 at the Winterthur Museum & Country Estate near Wilmington, Delaware. Mrs. Eaton spent four days in March at the forum where she attended lectures and workshops.

The Furniture Forum provides collectors, appraisers, curators, or conservators with specific questions to ask, an objective methodology with which to pursue the answers, and different sources for additional assistance. Repairs, replacements, and attempts to deceive were studied and evaluated, using examples from Winterthur's collection as well as other institutional and private collections.

Winterthur is the great country estate that was the private residence of Henry Francis duPont for many years. Transformed into a distinguished museum, Winterthur now houses what is believed to be the largest and richest collection of American decorative arts in the world.

Eaton is an antiques and personal property appraiser and this was her fourth visit to Winterthur to study in different disciplines.
