John Hammond, headmaster of Briarwood Academy, has announced the names of students who have been listed on the honor roll and merit list for the third nine weeks grading period of the 2007-2008 school year.

Wilkes County students recognized for the honor roll are Maura Jackson, Shelly Smith, Zachary Hill, Lance Lewis, Andrea Hill, Eli Holder, Jarrett Keen, Kayley Roberson, John Bounds, Russell Burdette, Ryan Pritchett, Emily Henderson, Adam Hardy, Lizzie Keen, and Abby McAvoy.

Students named to the merit list must have maintained a grade point average of 80 or above with no grade below 80.

Wilkes County students are Savannah Echols, Ford Walker, Alli Bennett, Hunter Callaway, India Callaway, Jonathan Davidson, Ty Gunter, Lathan Roberson, Austin Hardy, Justin Tucker, Ben Danner, Marla Goolsby, Brandy Ray, Tyler Edwards, Anna Goolsby, Saul Smith, Taylor Stitcher, and Brittany Ray.
