Jennifer Brandt, Nicholas Blankl united in marriage on March 28
Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas A. Blankl Jennifer Elyssa Brandt and Nicholas A. Blankl of Hermosa Beach, Calif., exchanged wedding vows in a lovely outdoor wedding Friday, March 28, at fiveo'clock in the afternoon at The La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes, Calif. Rev. Rachel Nyback of the Episcopal Congregation in Hermosa Beach officiated.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Tina and Doug Brandt of Bentonville, Ark. Mrs. Brandt is the former Tina Anne Jackson of Tignall.
The bridegroom is the son of Patricia and Al Blankl of Costa Mesa, Calif.
Overlooking the ocean, the gazebo was decorated with ivy and peach roses. Bouquets of peach roses adorned the end of each row on the aisle. Rose petals were scattered along the stone path leading to the gazebo.
Taped soft background music was played prior to the wedding ceremony and during the processional. "Here Comes the Bride" was played as the bride and her dad entered the path.
Patrick Forte of Palos Verdes, Calif., served as best man. Groomsmen were Scott Enright, Brian Schaefgen, John Rief, James Jones and Joseph Ybarra of Los Angeles, Calif., and surrounding areas.
Vega Finulan of Santa Barbara, Calif., was maid of honor and Dionne Bolton, also of Santa Barbara, served the bride as matron of honor. They wore sage green taffeta floorlength gowns and carried bouquets of peach and ivory roses.
Bridesmaids, Meghan Biesty of Los Angeles, Teresa Brown and Joleen Correa of Santa Barbara, wore different styles of sage green taffeta floor-length gowns. Their bouquets were also peach and ivory roses.
Kate Brandt of Houston, Tex., four-year old niece of the bride, was flower girl. Her ivory taffeta floorlength gown featured crystal trim at the waist. She carried a bouquet of peach roses and wore a circle of peach and ivory roses in her hair.
Luke Brandt of Houston, Tex., two-year-old nephew of the bride, served as ring bearer.
Given in marriage by her dad, the bride was stunning in her one-piece strapless gown crafted from vintage taffeta in pale ivory. The bodice was fashioned with lace adorned with Swarovski crystals. The skirt was a slim fitand flare silhouette with a handmade rosette that created a lift effect revealing elegant lace cascading to the hemline.
Her headpiece was a floor-length chapel train.
She carried a bouquet of peach and ivory roses.
Of special sentiment to the bride was the lace handkerchief that her mother carried at her wedding.
For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Brandt chose a full-length gown of taupe crinkled taffeta with sequins of teal and emerald green across the bodice of the dress. This design also adorned the sleeves of the bolerostyle jacket.
Mrs. Brankl, the bridegroom's mother, chose a full-length taffeta gown in navy and bronze with a crystal brooch closure at the center of the jacket.
Both wore corsages of coral roses.
Reception
Following the ceremony Tina and Doug Brandt entertained at a reception at the La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes.
As guests arrived, they registered in the book placed on a table at the entrance to the Inn.
Each table for the catered affair was covered with a sage green cloth and centered with crystal vases of peach and ivory roses. Peach and ivory napkins added to the décor. Silver place settings and crystal stemware were also used. Each of the 21 tables featured a silver frame that contained the name of an Oscar-winning movie title, such as "The King and I," "My Fair Lady," "Around the World in Eighty Days," etc. Guest place cards contained the name of the movie and the names of guests seated at that table.
The bridal couple cut the cake during the evening.
Following the reception they left for a wedding trip to Italy.
Rehearsal Dinner
Patricia and Al Blankl were hosts at a rehearsal dinner honoring Jennifer Brandt and Nicholas Blankl at The Cheese Cake Factory in Redondo Beach, Calif., on the eve of the couple's wedding.
Lovely floral arrangements in pastel colors were used to decorate tables that were covered in white linens and appointed in silver and crystal.
During the evening, guests enjoyed a slide show of photos of the prospective couple as children and teenagers which provided lots of laughs and fun-filled memories for all in attendance.
