Students and teachers at Washington-Wilkes Primary School cheer at Friday afternoon's presentation to Relay for Life of $2,353 raised by the school's students, teachers, and staff. Over the past weeks, they have used a penny jug contest, pet picture contest, and even gave up their ice cream to earn a "Relay Scoop" for their classroom. Teachers and faculty donated $845 to Dress Down Days. "You're never too young to help your community," Principal Dr. Rosemary Caddell said. "School is the perfect place for children to learn the meaning of helping others and of making a difference in the community.
