Lauren Nicole Wylie John Willie Gartrell III Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Wylie Jr. of Washington announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Nicole, to John Willie Gartrell III, son of Mrs. John Willie Gartrell Jr. and the late Mr. Gartrell, also of Washington.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Crew of Athens and Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Betty Ann Wylie and the late John Henry Wylie of Washington.

Mr. Gartrell is the grandson of Mrs. Gladys Zellars and the late John Willie Gartrell Zellars and the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Doughty, all of Washington.

The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 31, at 4 p.m. at Marks Tabernacle Baptist Church on Lexington Avenue in Washington.
