Washington-Wilkes FFA members attend Georgia state convention

Seven Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School FFA members attended the 80th annual Georgia FFA State Convention April 23- 26 at the Macon Centreplex. There were 2,752 statewide FFA members in attendance.

The theme for this year's convention was "Blue Jackets, Bright Futures."

Wilkes County FFA members attending were Sheena Kopecky, Taylor Echols, Gabe Strother, Greg Callaway, Ethan Armour, Trent Martin, and Elizabeth Kitchens. Advisers Nathan Heaton and Tony White accompanied the group.

Ethan Armour, a graduating senior, received his state FFA Degree at the Fifth General Session held Saturday. He was awarded his state pin and certificate.This is the highest degree given by the state at the state level. Patrick Grady, a wellknown motivational speaker, was the keynote speaker for this session. Denise Armour also attended this session.

Another highlight of this trip included touring the Andersonville Prisoner of War Museum.
