May bride-elect Joanna Delany was entertained at a shower Sunday afternoon, May 4, at the home of Susan Branan in Washington. Entertaining with Mrs. Branan was her daughter, Ashley Sheffieldof Athens.

For the occasion Miss Delany wore a black and white print sundress. She was presented a corsage of small fragrant yellow roses.

After greeting the bride-elect, the hostesses invited guests into the dining room where a beautiful spring arrangement centered the table overlaid in a cream damask cloth. From the table guests enjoyed delicious vanilla cake with raspberry filling, cheese straws, Danish wedding cookies, heart-shaped sandwiches, fruit with dip and punch.

The hostesses presented Miss Delany a Wilkes County plate featuring a picture of the Courthouse.

Joining Miss Delany, Mrs. Branan and Mrs. Sheffieldwere Miss Delany's mother, Marcia Delany of Washington and sister, Gina Gay of Lawrenceville; Debbie Lindsey, Paula Atchison, Carolyn Reynolds, Becky Hooton, Vijji Kuppuswamy, Margie Cobb, Pauline Bell, Patsy Capps, Linda Smith and Gale Seibert.
