Bugs and books kicked off the Vacation Reading Program at the Mary Willis Library Saturday morning. "Over 60 adults and children were in attendance for Chad Crews' performance," said librarian Beth Miller, "with approximately 50 children signing for the reading club on Saturday."

With a theme for the summer of "Catch the Reading Bug," the reading program is open to young people, preschool through young adult, with programs, prizes, and incentives, story times, a reading club, and more.

The next program, with Caroline & Danny, will be Tuesday, June 3 at 10 a.m. The first craft workshop will be Thursday, June 5, at 10 a.m. "Children must register for the workshop, and registration begins on May 29 with a limit of 24 children," Miller said. Workshops are recommended for children 7 and up unless accompanied by an adult.

In addition, Story Time will start Friday, June 6, at 10 a.m. and going each Friday morning through July 18.
