We hope you had a nice Memorial Day holiday. Remembers what it really means, not just once a year, but all the year. ƒHappy birthday to all who are celebrating birthdays this week. Bennie Hudson celebrates on May 29, and Miss Lucy McCorkle on May 31. ƒEbenezer Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School June 1-5, beginning Sunday night and continuing through Thursday night. There will be supper at 5:30 p.m., followed by Bible School. Come out and enjoy. An adult class will be held each night. ƒI visited patients at Wills Memorial Hospital this past week, and also on Saturday. I visited Mr. and Mrs. Warren Nunn and a quick visit to Mr. and Mrs. Travis Armour. Congratulations to Bettye Eubanks Rhodes and Travis Armour who were married Saturday. Rev. Jim Newsome performed the ceremony. ƒFriends from Vero Beach, Fla., visited Mrs. Jenelle Newsome and Rev. and Mrs. Jim Newsome last week. On Friday, Mrs. Jenelle Newsome joined Jim and Karan Newsome for a visit with Jamie, Charlene, and Anna Newsome in Martinez. ƒSupper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Dunnaway Sunday evening were their children, Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Holt, Mallory and Kinsley of Martinez; Curtis Holt and Tyler of Lincolnton; Brooke of Augusta; and Mr. and Mrs. Wade Dunnaway of Wilkes County. ƒRichard and Brenda Phillips visited Rebecca Phillips in Conyers Saturday. On Friday the Phillipses enjoyed field day at the Washington Wilkes Primary School. Their grandson, Chip Hayes, was a participant. ƒBobbi and Wayne Thornton visited Miss Grace Dunaway and Alex Dunaway Saturday. Alex visited his neighbors, Linda Battle, his cousin, Linda Standard, and Mrs. Louise Burt last week. ƒSincere love and sympathy to all who recently lost loved ones. ƒTrudy B. Sutherland came by to say hello to me and brought pretty brown eggs last week. Trudy and her mother, Juanita Bradford, were on the way to Thomson to visit Dennis Bradford and family. Dennis is not well and is on our prayer list. ƒOur prayer concerns are many.
