'Dig History' archaeology camp set for kids 11-17 at Hickory Hill

2008-05-29 / News

"Dig History" is a week-long day camp specially designed for kids, ages 11-17, interested in archaeology. During the week, junior archaeologists will work alongside professional archaeologists to learn about survey, mapping, forensics, and excavation.

"The Ark of the Covenant, Crystal Skulls, Mummies, Tombs, and Temples are all part of the fabulously fascinating science of archaeology," says Michelle Zupan, curator. "If your child is fascinated by these things and by Indiana Jones, then Dig History is just the summer camp program you are looking for."

The cost of camp is $50 per child per week. Camp will be held the weeks of June 16-20, June 23-27, July 7-11 (advanced camp), and July 14-18, 2008. Camp will meet Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

All activities will be held at Hickory Hill in Thomson, Georgia. Contact Hickory Hill at 706-595-7777.
