The Kettle Creek Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, met Monday, May 19, at the Washington Woman's Club for a special program and installation of officers.

Marjorie Echols Tyler accompanied her son, Larry Tyler of Dunwoody, to her 66th high school reunion of Meson Academy Class of 1942 on May 17 at Country Catering in Arnoldsville. The event was enjoyed by graduates of classes l940-46 of Meson Academy that was located in Lexington. lBob, Kay and John Sauls of Marietta enjoyed a Memorial Day weekend visit with Norma Hopkins. lJames and Emily Thornton visited last weekend in Boiling Springs, N.C., with their son and family, John, Gail and T. J. Thornton. lMichael and Vonice Wells and Jillian Andrews enjoyed several days at the beach at Santa Rosa, Fla. They also attended the wedding of their niece and cousin, Christy Eblin, to Jason Norton in Santa Rosa. lMal and Anna Heaton of Moulton, Ala., and Roy Norman of Atlanta visited Friday through Sunday with Dottie Norman. Also visiting Saturday were Henry, Kathy, Amelia and Mary Emma Norman of Watkinsville and Sunday guests were Ed, Hayden, Kaitlin and Kindler Norman of Monroe. lChris, Tara, Garston and Henry Townsend were in Atlanta Saturday to visit Ronnie and Sandy Townsend and to greet their new nephew and cousin, Garrett Tabor, infant son of Jamie and Tiffany Tabor. Georgia State Registrar. Mrs. Towns has held numerous positions in the DAR that include State Outstanding Chapter Regent, Georgia State Librarian, and chairman of the 104th State Conference.

Mrs. Towns installed the Kettle Creek Chapter new officers for 2008-2010 with a clever and humorous presentation giving each officera different herb and citing the similarities between the herb and their new office.The newly-installed officersare Carolyn Faz and Anneice Butler, co-regents; Laura Toburen, first vice-regent; Oleta McAvoy, second vice-regent; Ginny Broome, chaplain; Marian Thorpe, recording secretary; Paula Butts, corresponding secretary; Jane Burton, treasurer; Betty Slaton, registrar; Lillie Crowe, historian; and Maxine Singleton, librarian.

Hostesses for the meeting were Phyllis Scarborough, Charlotte Simmons, Lou Singleton and Nancy Sisson.
