Chase Jackson receives BA degree from Ga. Southern
Charles "Chase" Timothy Jackson received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro during graduation ceremonies at Paulson Stadium May 10.
Chase graduated with a major in Justice Studies and has accepted an internship with the U.S. Marshall Services.
He is the son of Tim and Mandy Jackson and grandson of Andrew and Pat Grimaud of Washington and the late Tabor and Jean Jackson of Tignall.
To celebrate this occasion Chase was guest of honor at a cook-out at the family home on Independence Street in Tignall. Joining the Jacksons in entertaining were Chase's brother, Hunter; his grandparents; and James and Joy Cartledge of Evans.
The lawn was festively decorated for the occasion using Georgia Southern colors.
As guests arrived, they enjoyed an enlarged photo of Chase as a child and a graduation photo. Surrounding the photos were yellow Alstroemeria lilies and yellow and white daisies finished with solidago and greenery.
Tables were covered in denim overlaid with goldenrod gingham cloths. Centering the tables were spring arrangements of yellow and white daisies and greenery in antique milk bottles along with Georgia Southern frisbees.
Chase's parents welcomed their guests and invited them to enjoy a buffet of delicious barbecued ribs and a variety of Southern dishes. The dessert table featured watermelon baskets prepared by Chase's grandparents, and a Georgia Southern cake.
Joining Chase and his family for the evening were 80 family members, neighbors and friends. Special guests included high school friends, Andy Jackson, Charlie Jones, Cole Nickels, Christopher Rogers, Jonathon Wheatley and their families.
