Bettye Rhodes, Travis Armour honored at shower on May 17
Engaged couple Bettye Rhodes and Travis Armour were honored by the Senior Choir of First Baptist Church at a fellowship Saturday evening, May 17, at the home of Patricia and Allen Burton on the Thomson Road.
Mrs. Rhodes chose for the occasion a white linen ruffledblouse over a navy linen skirt and was presented a corsage of white daisies.
The Burton home was welcoming with a beautiful arrangement of tulips and roses on the table in the foyer. The dining table, overlaid in a white cutwork cloth, was centered with a tall crystal compote of yellow coreopsis and daisies with trailing variegated vinca.
From the table guests enjoyed a delicious assortment of party foods provided by the choir.
A corner table featured a chocolate fountain and fresh strawberries while another held the silver punch bowl.
Mr. Burton welcomed choir members, spouses, friends and special guests including the brideelect's daughter, Lisa Stroika, and the prospective bridegroom's sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Alton Ray. He also offered the blessing before refreshments were enjoyed.
Dean Mansfield presented the couple a gift on behalf of the choir.
Approximately 35 guests attended.
