Mia Robinson named STAR Student for Athens Christian
Mia Robinson Mia Robinson was named 2008 STAR Student for Athens Christian School in Athens.
The STAR Student Award is sponsored by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators. Miss Robinson chose Dotty Gunby of Winder as her STAR Teacher.
In addition to this honor, Miss Robinson was awarded her diploma from Athens Christian in commencement exercises at Eagle Stadium Saturday, May 17. She plans to attend the University of Georgia in the fall and has been awarded the Harris Scholarship for academic excellence.
Miss Robinson is the daughter of Louis Robinson of Lincolnton and Michele and Michael Goodyear of Winder. She is the granddaughter of Kay and Jerry Robinson of Washington, Ronnie Mills and Garnett and Robert Dickerson of Elberton and the great-granddaughter of Frances Cullars Prater of Lincolnton.
Among the guests at graduation were her parents; grandparents, Kay and Jerry Robinson and Garnett and Robert Dickerson; and out-of-town guests, Alan and Kelly Scott and Eli of Hartwell, Gary and Missy Williams and Michael of Elberton, Brian and Shannon Welch, Cole Bentley, John Thomas Leach, Gabe Leach, and Catherine Leach of Winder, Janet Carter of Winterville, Peggy C. Guillebeau and Collette Norris of Albany.
