Hattie Bell Smith

Funeral services for Hattie Bell Smith, 101, were held Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at the Pole Branch Missionary Baptist Church, Tignall, with Rev. Joe L. Glaze, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. She died Saturday, May 24, at Golden Living Center Nursing Home in Atlanta.

Mrs. Smith was a native of Wilkes County and the daughter of the late Tom Smith and Sallie Mae Jordon Smith. She was the widow of Fred Smith and a member of the Pole Branch Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include 13 nieces, four nephews, and two cousins.

Pallbearers included Ashley Heard, Perry Davis, Edward Chenault, Randy McLendon, Roger Wilkinson, and Larry Andrews.

McLendon Memorial Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
