Hannah Batrous guest of honor at bridesmaids luncheon on May 24

Hannah Batrous was entertained at a bridesmaids luncheon Saturday, May 24, at the Tom C. Blackmon home on Wrightsboro Road. Entertaining for the bride-elect were Pam l Eleanor and Steve Blackmon enjoyed a visit last weekend in Nashville, Tenn., with son, Steve Blackmon Jr. In addition to their first visit in his and wife, Evelyn's new home, they enjoyed lunch with former Washingtonian, Janelle Poss Flynt. The Blackmons toured the "state of the art" Smith Music Academy, a facility that serves inner city Nashville children, grades 1-12, during the after school hours and have the opportunity to study instrumental, vocal, and choral curricula, receiving instruction and performance experience. Steve, Jr., serves as treasurer of the Board. lRoy Norman of Atlanta visited during the weekend with his mother, Dottie Norman. Also visiting during the weekend were Mal and Anna Heaton of Moulton, Ala. lCollier and Ashton Worley of Lafayette enjoyed last week with Rosemary Hopkins and also visited Billy Hopkins. lJohn and Olivia Fortson of Charlotte, N.C., spent the weekend with Boots and Shirley Gunter. They all attended the LeRoy reunion on Saturday night and again on Sunday in Tignall at the home of Margaret Fortson. McCarty, April Dyson, Stacy Kay, Tanya Smith, and Jayne Callaway.

Miss Batrous was lovely in a summer royal blue dress. She was presented a corsage of a budding pink peony .

The luncheon was held on the sun porch which was transformed into a summer garden with lush ferns and other greenery.

Tables were covered in white linens with green overlays and featured arrangements of shades of pink peonies and chartreuse spider chrysanthemums. Places were marked with potted English ivy personalized with each guest's name and were presented as favors. Special family china was used in serving.

Following the delicious luncheon course, the traditional charm cake was enjoyed for dessert. The cake was a special gift from the hostesses to the bride-elect as was the glass monogrammed cake plate on which it was presented.

Miss Batrous presented her attendants jewelry for the wedding. Also a picture was made of the bride-elect with each of her attendants to be specially framed and presented at a later date.

Celebrating the occasion with Miss Batrous and her hostesses were her mother, Vicki Batrous, grandmother, Jackie Adams, of Washington, and sister, Kelli Hardin of Evans; the prospective bridegroom's mother, Theresa DeMore of Harlem; also Sierra Gritz of Duluth; Katie Chenoweth of Woodstock; Anna Dawkins of Lincolnton; Rachel Hardin of Evans; Brett Walker of Rayle; Madison Kay of Sharon; and Anna Williams of Thomson.
